Benefits of Massage http://modesalon.net/blog/2011/05/benefits-of-massage/ http://modesalon.net/blog/2011/05/benefits-of-massage/#respond Wed, 25 May 2011 19:40:09 +0000 http://modesalon.net/blog/?p=127 Angie Noble discusses some of the benefits of Massage Therapy

1. RELIEVES PAIN

People suffering from chronic pain can experience immediate, partial, or temporary relief through massage.

2. EASES TENSION

Physical tension caused by standing at your job, or carrying and lifting heavy objects can be relieved by getting a massage to relax worn muscles.

3. RELAXES INFLAMED MUSCLES

Massage will ease the tension and soreness from exercise and other sports related injuries.

4. IMPROVES CIRCULATION

Massage helps stimulate your body tissues and improves blood flow. For some people, massage can help lower blood pressure and can improve pulse rate. This contributes to an improved overall health and well being.

5. REDUCES STRESS

Massage can relax stiff muscles, and reduce the occurance of tension headaches. It also helps you cope and manage with stress and difficult emotions.

6. ENHANCES YOUR MOOD

It has been shown that massage releases the feel-good endorphines into your body. Massage creates a sense of well being that can make anyone feel better.

7. A WAY TO PAMPER YOURSELF

Do something nice for yourself, and take a mental break through the power of massage. This will truly make you feel pampered. At various points in life, you may feel run-down, overwhelmed, or bored from the daily routine. When you get a massage, your body and mind wake up. Not only does a massage offer a relaxing escape, but the benefits continue after, allowing you to feel more alert and energized.

Angie at Mode Salon

Artist at work

Angie Noble came to us a few years ago from Arizona. She has a true passion for taking care of her Clients. We caught up with Angie on her break to get some of her thoughts.

Mode: So why did you get into this crazy industry?

Angie: I have always loved doing hair and getting my hair done. I am very artistic. I wanted a career where I could use my creativity. I also love making people feel good about themselves.

Mode: So what do you like most about doing hair?

Angie: I like to be able to replicate the vision that my client has for their hair, both cut and color.

Mode: What do you do when you are not doing hair?

Angie: I like hanging out with my friends and family, shopping and watching movies.

Mode: What would you like us to know that might surprise us?

Angie: I love drawing and painting with oils.

Mode: What beauty advice do you have?

Angie: Get your hair cut at least every 6 to 8 weeks even if you are growing your hair long. It is important to cut off the dead ends to keep your hair healthy!

Visit Angie at Mode Salon and get your Artistic Cut today.

Greta has a thing for Color! http://modesalon.net/blog/2010/03/greta-has-a-thing-for-color/ http://modesalon.net/blog/2010/03/greta-has-a-thing-for-color/#respond Thu, 04 Mar 2010 18:29:40 +0000 http://modesalon.net/blog/?p=84

Greta Randolph has been working at Mode Salon for several years now. She always greets her Clients with the biggest smile in Indy. We sat down with Greta to get her thoughts on what motivates her to do such great work:

Mode: Why did you decide to get into the Beauty Industry?

Greta: Growing up I always liked to try different things with my hair and makeup. My parents let me try different Colors like Red or Pink lowlights; blonde or brunette; short or long. I had it all! That “Spiked” my interest

Mode: So what do you like most about doing hair now?

Greta: I like doing hair because it makes people feel better. I enjoy putting people in a good mood and for a lot of women and men, getting their hair done is the answer for that!

Mode: What do you do in your downtime?

Greta: I enjoy spending time with my family; going to Cincinnati to visit my boyfriend and go out with my friends. I love Broadripple!

Mode: What would you like us to know that might surprise us?

Greta: I love to do “Boy Stuff”. My favorite activity is to go fishing with my Dad. And YES, I bait my own line and take the fish off! I also love water sports such as swimming, water skiing and tubing.

Mode: What beauty advice do you have?

Greta: Work with what you have and get to love that…and if you don’t like something, then do something to enhance your features like highlights, color or even hair extensions.

Greta does great skin care, facials and pedicures as well. You can catch her most days at Mode Salon.

For Rhonda, Beauty is a State of Mind http://modesalon.net/blog/2010/03/for-rhonda-beauty-is-a-state-of-mind/ http://modesalon.net/blog/2010/03/for-rhonda-beauty-is-a-state-of-mind/#respond Thu, 04 Mar 2010 18:08:50 +0000 http://modesalon.net/blog/?p=78

Foils anyone?

To say Rhonda Hayes can do hair is an understatement. But Mode Salon’s award-winning Stylist from New York City cares as much about the lives of her Clients as she does about their hair style. An individual Tour de Force, spending time in Rhonda’s chair is an experience. We caught up with her for this short interview.

Mode: What made you get into doing hair?

Rhonda: At a very early age, I was fascinated by the art of styling hair. It was very easy for me to comprehend and I felt very comfortable and natural doing it. I also love people.

Mode: So what do you like the most about it?

Rhonda:

  1. How creative I can be
  2. How flexible and unpredictable the job is
  3. The smile on my Client’s face when I do an awesome job
  4. And last but not least… The different people I come in contact with everyday is exciting

Mode: So what do you do to get away from all the excitement?

Rhonda: I watch a lot of TV! Everything and anything! Or I go shopping with my two beautiful children.

Mode: What don’t we know about you?

Rhonda: When I lived in Grenada in the West Indies, I taught Preschool before moving to America. I was also a Pageant Girl!

Mode: What beauty advice do you have?

Rhonda: Love yourself and try to live a stress free life. Your body and total image will reflect it.

Rhonda can be seen most days at Mode Salon. Our advice? Book early and book often!

Spa is not an option! http://modesalon.net/blog/2009/09/spa-is-not-an-option/ http://modesalon.net/blog/2009/09/spa-is-not-an-option/#respond Mon, 07 Sep 2009 14:21:12 +0000 http://modesalon.net/blog/?p=49 Spa Model

Spa at Mode Salon

Mode Salon started out in 2003 primarily as a Hair Salon focused on delivering Premium Hair Care Services for all hair types. We still have a strong hair following and the “word on the street” is if you want to get your hair done the right way, go to Mode.

A few years ago we started offering extensive Spa Services such as Massage, Skin Care and Nails. This has opened up many new avenues and we now regularly have out of town visitors come to us just for Spa.

The common misconception is that Spa Services are really luxury services. We think of them as Wellness Services, particularly in these uncertain times. We all tend to neglect some aspect of ourselves which if done long enough can amount to real issues later on. Massages are therapeutic. Facials are rejuvenating and Pedicures promote good foot health.

So next time you are thinking, “I can’t afford or don’t have time for the Spa”, instead think ” I really CAN”T afford to do without taking care of myself”.

Health is not a luxury. Make a date to take care of yourself today.
