Valentines Day marked the beginning of Wedding season here and across the country.
For many a would be couple it’s off to the races! Many popular websites have checklists galore to help you plan the very last detail. We thought we would take you to the 30,000 foot view and help you keep everything in perspective:

1. As big as it is, it’s only one day. Try not to burn bridges as a Wedding does NOT equal a Marriage. Your relationship must survive the wedding if you want to live happily ever after.

2. Put the big rocks in place first, then handle the smaller stuff later. This means:

Decide early on what you can afford and stick to it
Secure a place to have your ceremony
Secure a place to have your reception
Secure your photographer, DJ and yes your Stylist
Secure your wedding dress
Order your invitations
Get your licenses
Get your wedding rings

Make a checklist of these main items and others (colors, menus, key guests). Set target dates and check them off as you go.

3. If key relatives and friends have not met yet, this would be a good time. Everyone wants to give their blessing and input. The earlier the better so you can create goodwill and soothe any conflicts…early.

4. Sometimes you have to face reality and let some things go which you know will not fit in with your new relationship: A Best Man that wasn’t; A Best Friend who all of a sudden isn’t… Painful as it might be to let go, it is impossible to look ahead and look back at the same time.

5. Don’t just plan your honeymoon, plan little escapes along the way as well. Yes, you and your partner to be have to get a lot of things done and it can be stressful for sure, but you will do much better together AFTER the Wedding, if you learn to relax together BEFORE the Wedding.

Fresh Hair looks for the Spring

Each season we look in magazines, on T.V., on the internet to see what the hair trends are for that season. Celebrities are most widely followed to see what they are wearing or what they are doing. This year you will notice the trend with hair is inspired by the 60′s and 70′s. From the Mia Farrow cut, to soft waves and everything in between is easy and fun for everyone.

If you are someone who likes the look of soft waves that move with you or a fun pony then these two looks are for you. The first look is for those of you who want to feel as though you are about to walk the red carpet. Feel glamorous all the way with theses soft waves:

If your hair is past your shoulders you will want to use a 1″ iron. shoulder length should be 3/4″.
Take 1″ pieces and curl end to root.
Set each curl with a clip and spray.
Once all your hair is all curled let it cool.
Take down and spray then take a paddle brush and brush out gently.

Now you are ready to hit the town for any occasion. Our next look can be done two ways. We can do sleek and elegant or fun and playful. I’m talking about the ponytail. We will transition from one look to the other with ease and you will be doing them all the time. Our look is the ponytail:

This look is the side pony and you will need to make sure your hair is nice and smooth.
Choose your desired side and smoothly pull your hair to that side.
You can use a flat-iron or a small curling iron to curl you pony taking small pieces.
Once all curled take a comb or brush and tease for flare.

The next look is one you can transition to from a fun pony. This is the sleek and elegant high pony.

You will want to smooth out your hair with a flat-iron.
Once you have your hair straight determine how high or low you want your pony. Start to smooth your hair and put it up at the desired point.
Take a piece of hair from the bottom side of your ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie to cover. Then take a bobby pin and lock the hair in place.
Go through and smooth the pony one last time and spray and you are ready to go and enjoy your night out on the town.

I hope you enjoy these few looks and remember to have fun with them. Hair is meant to be played with and always stay creative.
